1 Day Beginner Photography Workshop

In this one day small group workshop learn the basics of photography, take a bunch of photos and (we hope) lift your photography to 'the next level', and help inspire your photographic journey.

Come hang out with a bunch of like minded people starting your photographic journey and be part of a supportive community focused on helping you grow in the art of photography.

What We'll Cover

1. Basic camera handling
2. Understanding the controls on your camera
3. The exposure triangle - aperture (depth of field), shutter speed and ISO
4. Shooting in 'manual'
5. Learn how your camera 'sees' light - grey scale, colour and contrast, and how to use this creatively
6. The 'rules' of composition - rule of thirds, golden ratio, leading lines
7. Framing your image and creating depth
8. Story telling and narrative in your images

What to Bring

• A DSLR, or Mirrorless digital camera capable of manual and semi-manual modes (Aperture priority/shutter priority)
• a standard angle lens (around 50mm) (or standard zoom)
• telephoto lens (or telephoto zoom) if you have one (optional)
• a tripod (optional)
• a pen and notebook

Cancellation/Refund Policy

• If you need to cancel 5 days notice is required for a refund.
• Should you need to cancel with less than 5 days notice we are happy to transfer your registration to a future event, however no refund will be available for that event.
• If we need to cancel or postpone an event we will give you as much notice as possible.
• If we cancel an event all fees will be refunded in full
• If we postpone an event (for example due to weather or illness) and you can't make the revised date/time and need to cancel the 5 day notice provisions above apply
