1. Getting Started with Low-Cost Gear: Begin your macro journey with a guide to essential, budget-friendly equipment. Learn about affordable macro lenses, extension tubes, and other accessories that make macro photography accessible to everyone.
2. Composition and Creativity: Dive into the principles of composing compelling macro shots. Explore how to use lines, shapes, and textures to create visually striking images. Unleash your creativity and learn how to see the world from a new, tiny perspective.
3. Lighting the Macro World: Understand the importance of lighting in macro photography. Learn techniques for using constant light and flash to highlight intricate details, control shadows, and bring your subjects to life.
4. Depth of Field and Focus: Master the challenges of shallow depth of field in macro photography. Discover how to achieve sharp focus and create beautiful bokeh effects that make your subjects pop against the background.

NOTE: Photographers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult

What to Bring

• Mirrorless or DSLR camera
• A macro lens or extension tubes (if you have them) or the closest focusing lens you have
• A tripod
• Small LED lights
• Notebook and pen for taking notes
• Enthusiasm and a creative mindset!

Note: Basic macro gear will be provided, including a Fujifilm camera and macro lens, rigging, and lighting equipment. However, bringing your own gear is encouraged to help you get the most out of the workshop.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

• If you need to cancel 5 days notice is required for a refund.
• Should you need to cancel with less than 5 days notice we are happy to transfer your registration to a future event, however no refund will be available for that event.
• If we need to cancel or postpone an event we will give you as much notice as possible.
• If we cancel an event all fees will be refunded in full
• If we postpone an event (for example due to weather or illness) and you can't make the revised date/time and need to cancel the 5 day notice provisions above apply
