Unlock the secrets of studio portrait photography in our comprehensive workshop designed for beginners and aspiring photographers. This hands-on course will equip you with the foundational skills and techniques needed to create stunning studio portraits, all while fostering a fun and creative learning environment.

- Introduction to Studio Portraiture: Begin with an overview of studio portrait photography, understanding its unique characteristics and the creative potential it offers. Learn about the importance of lighting, posing, and composition in creating impactful portraits.
- Essential Equipment: Familiarize yourself with the essential equipment for a studio setup. From cameras and lenses to lighting gear and backdrops, we'll guide you through the tools you'll need and how to use them effectively.
- Lighting Fundamentals: Dive into the basics of studio lighting. Learn about different types of lighting setups, including key light, fill light, and background light. Discover how to use modifiers like softboxes, umbrellas, and reflectors to control and shape light.
- Posing Techniques: Master the art of posing your subjects to bring out their best features and convey the desired mood. We'll cover posing tips for individuals, couples, and groups, ensuring you can handle a variety of portrait sessions.
- Camera Settings and Techniques: Gain practical knowledge of camera settings and techniques specific to studio photography. Understand how to set your camera for optimal exposure, sharpness, and depth of field in a controlled studio environment.

NOTE: Photographers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
What to BringÂ
We'll be bringing a range of lighting and scene setting options for you to explore so all you need to bring is:Â
- A camera with manual settings (DSLR or mirrorless recommended)
- A portrait lens (50mm, 85mm, or similar)
- Note-taking materials
- A rough idea of the images you want to createÂ
- Lots of energyÂ
- An open and inquisitive mind
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

Cancellation/Refund Policy
- If you need to cancel 5 days notice is required for a refund.
- Should you need to cancel with less than 5 days notice we are happy to transfer your registration to a future event, however no refund will be available for that event.
- If we need to cancel or postpone an event we will give you as much notice as possible.
- If we cancel an event all fees will be refunded in full
- If we postpone an event (for example due to weather or illness) and you can't make the revised date/time and need to cancel the 5 day notice provisions above apply
